Historicus en filosoof Luuk van Middelaar (1973) is sedert 2010 speechwriter en politiek adviseur van de eerste president van de Europese Raad, Herman Van Rompuy. Van Middelaar studeerde in Groningen en Parijs, en is in Amsterdam gepromoveerd. Zijn debuut Politicide (1999) werd onmiddellijk bekroond met de prestigieuze ‘Prix de Paris’.
