Claire Keegan

Claire Keegan is geboren in 1968 en opgegroeid op een boerderij in Wicklow, Ierland. Haar verhalenbundel Antarctica won de Rooney Prize for Literature en was LA Times Boek van de maand. Voor haar tweede bundel, Walk the Blue Fields, ontving ze de Edge Hill Prize. In 2009 publiceerde ze Foster/ Pleegkind dat de grootste internationale literaire prijs voor een verhaal won. Foster/Pleegkind werd ook beste boek van het jaar bij The New Yorker. Hierna heeft ze het verhaal uitgebreid naar een novelle. Claire Keegan woont op het platteland van Ierland.
